The Padel ClubLaunch System

For clubs in planning, build or pre-opening

You build the facility.
We build the demand.

A padel club is not finished when the courts are. The Padel Club Launch System builds the audience, the waiting list and the booking habit before you open — so your first month looks like your best month, not your quietest.

No cost. No obligation. A 45-minute video call.

  • Built specifically for padel, not adapted from another sport
  • Planning-stage intelligence on every UK club in development
  • One system covering brand, website, demand and retention

The problem

Most new padel clubs market themselves far too late

Planning, funding, groundworks and fit-out absorb everything. Marketing becomes a job for the month before opening — and by then the expensive decisions have already been made without it.

  • Marketing starts after the money is spent

The capital is committed, the opening date is fixed, and demand generation begins with weeks to go. There is no time left to build an audience properly — only time to advertise into a cold market.

  • Opening week is busy. Week six is not.

Curiosity fills courts for a fortnight. Without a plan for what happens next, the launch spike decays into quiet weekday mornings and a membership number that stops moving.

  • The booking platform is treated as the strategy

A booking system takes payments from people who already know you. It does not create awareness, build a waiting list, or explain to a curious local why padel is worth trying.

  • Nobody local knows the club is coming

Planning notices and construction hoardings are not a marketing campaign. Most clubs reach opening day with no email list, no community, and no idea who their first hundred members will be.

  • Off-peak is where the margin quietly disappears

Evenings and weekends tend to look after themselves. Weekday daytime is the difference between a club that works financially and one that does not, and it needs a deliberate programme, not hope.

  • Generic agencies do not understand padel

Court utilisation, coaching pathways, americano formats, league structures and membership versus pay-and-play economics are all specific. A general agency learns them at your expense.

The Padel Club Launch System

The cost of delay

Every quiet court hour after opening is revenue you cannot recover

A padel court is a perishable asset. An hour that goes unbooked on a Tuesday morning is not sold later — it is simply gone. That makes the months before opening the highest-leverage marketing period a club will ever have, and the one most often wasted.

Demand takes months to build

An audience that trusts you enough to book, join and bring a friend is not assembled in a fortnight of paid social. It is built steadily, from the moment the project becomes real.

Your catchment is being claimed now

Padel supply in the UK is rising quickly. The club that starts talking to a catchment first tends to keep it, because players form habits around a venue and rarely move once they have.

Fixed costs start on day one

Rent, finance, staff and utilities do not wait for utilisation to catch up. The gap between opening and profitability is decided long before the doors open.

The months before opening are the cheapest demand you will ever buy.

The solution

One system, built around your opening date

The Padel Club Launch System is a structured programme that runs from planning approval through to a full second season. It is not a retainer with a list of tasks. It is a sequence, with each phase set up so the next one works.

We work backwards from the date you expect to open, and forwards from where your project is today. Everything — positioning, website, waiting list, launch campaign, membership, retention — is scheduled against that date so nothing arrives too late to matter.

The three phases

  1. Phase 01 — GroundworkFrom planning approval

Decide what the club is, who it is for, and how it will be found — before a single pound is spent on advertising.

    • Catchment and competitor analysis using live UK planning data
    • Positioning and proposition: what this club is, and for whom
    • Brand identity, naming and visual system, or refinement of an existing one
    • Pricing and membership model review, including off-peak strategy
    • Website and booking journey designed for conversion, not decoration
    • Search foundations, Google Business Profile and local listings
  2. Phase 02 — DemandThree to six months out

Turn a construction site into a waiting list. Build a named, contactable audience that is ready to book the week you open.

    • Waiting list and founder membership campaign
    • Paid social and search targeted to your catchment
    • Construction-progress content that builds anticipation locally
    • Partnerships with clubs, gyms, schools, employers and community groups
    • Local press and community outreach
    • Email and SMS nurture from first enquiry through to first booking
  3. Phase 03 — PerformanceFrom opening onwards

Convert the opening spike into a habit. Fill the hours that decide whether the club works financially.

    • Launch fortnight campaign and open-day programme
    • Off-peak and weekday-daytime demand building
    • Coaching pathways, leagues, americanos and social formats that drive repeat play
    • Retention, referral and reactivation campaigns
    • Review generation and reputation management
    • Monthly reporting against utilisation and membership targets

Who it is for

Built for people building padel clubs

The system is designed around the realities of a development project — long lead times, fixed opening dates and capital already committed.

  • Developers with planning approved

You have consent and a programme. The build is under control. The question of who will actually play there has not been answered yet.

  • First-time club operators

You know padel. You have not launched a venue before, and you would rather not learn the marketing side through trial and error on your own opening.

  • Existing venues adding padel

A tennis, racquets, leisure or hospitality business adding courts. You have an audience already, and it needs converting rather than creating.

  • Multi-site groups

You are opening more than one site and need a repeatable launch process rather than a fresh scramble at every location.

It is probably not for you if

  • You are looking for a single social media campaign in the month before opening
  • The club is already open and fully utilised across all hours
  • You want a supplier to take instructions rather than a view
A full indoor padel club with players on every court

Opening day starts months before opening.

Why Baseline

A specialist, not a generalist with a padel page

Baseline Digital Marketing works with padel operators specifically. That focus is the whole point — it means the thinking is already done before we start.

Delivered by

Baseline Digital Marketing
  • Padel-specific, not sport-generic

Court utilisation, americano and league formats, coaching pathways, membership versus pay-and-play — the economics of a padel club are particular. We are not learning them on your project.

  • Visibility of the whole UK pipeline

We track every padel planning application in the UK. That means we can tell you what is coming in your catchment, and when, before it affects you.

  • Senior attention throughout

You work directly with the person doing the thinking. Nothing is passed to a junior team once the proposal is signed.

  • A system, not a set of campaigns

Everything connects. The positioning informs the website, the website converts the campaigns, the campaigns feed the list, the list fills the courts.

How it works

From first conversation to full launch

A deliberately simple process. You will know what happens next at every stage.

  1. Launch Readiness Review

A complimentary 45-minute video call. We look at your project, your catchment and your timeline, and tell you honestly where the risks are.

  2. Launch plan

A written plan mapped to your opening date, with priorities, sequencing, and a clear view of what needs to happen when.

  3. Proposal and scope

A defined scope and cost. You choose whether to run the full system or begin with a single phase.

  4. Build

Positioning, brand, website and booking journey are put in place, and the waiting list campaign begins.

  5. Launch and beyond

The opening campaign runs, then attention shifts to utilisation, retention and the hours that decide profitability.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How early should we start marketing a new padel club?

As soon as planning is approved, and ideally while the application is still in progress. The audience-building work — waiting list, founder members, local partnerships — takes months rather than weeks, and it is the single biggest lever on how your first quarter performs. Clubs that begin six months out consistently open in a stronger position than clubs that begin six weeks out.

Our club is already open. Is it too late?

No. The Performance phase is designed exactly for this, and it is where most open clubs have the most to gain — particularly on weekday daytime utilisation and member retention. The Launch Readiness Review works just as well as an operating review for a club that is already trading.

Do we have to take the whole system?

No. Each phase and each service works on its own, and plenty of clubs start with a single piece — usually the website and booking journey, or the waiting list campaign. The phases are sequenced because that is when they work best, not because they are sold as a bundle.

What does it cost?

It depends on the number of courts, the scope, and how much of the work you want to keep in-house. Costs are discussed and set out in writing after the Launch Readiness Review, once there is enough information for a figure to mean anything. The review itself is free.

We already have a booking platform. Does that change anything?

Not really, and it is a good thing to have in place. A booking platform handles transactions from people who have already decided to play. The system is concerned with everything upstream of that — awareness, consideration, the first booking — and everything downstream, which is retention. We work with whichever platform you have chosen.

Do you work with clubs outside the UK?

The system is built around the UK market, UK planning data and UK player behaviour. We do take enquiries from elsewhere and will say plainly during the review whether we are the right fit.

Would you work with a competing club nearby?

No. We do not take on two clubs competing for the same catchment. If we are already working with a club near you, we will tell you at the first opportunity rather than after a proposal.

What happens after I submit the form?

We review the information you have provided and contact you to arrange the video call. Where possible we will look at your proposed site, planning application and existing online presence beforehand, so the call starts with something useful rather than with questions we could have answered ourselves.
